Artist Guidelines
Artist Guidelines
Welcome to MudToMug. Our mission is to provide a global showcase that celebrates the art of handmade ceramics and connects independent creators with passionate buyers. To maintain a high-quality, trusted environment, we ask all participating artists to adhere to the following guidelines.
1. Eligibility and Originality
- Handmade Only: All items listed must be original, hand-crafted ceramic works created by you or your studio. We strictly prohibit mass-produced, factory-made, or drop-shipped items.
- Authenticity: Your profile and listings must accurately reflect your identity as an independent artisan and the techniques you utilize.
2. Listing Quality Standards
- Photography: High-quality images are essential for showcasing your craft. Please use clear, well-lit photos (natural light is best) with uncluttered backgrounds. Include multiple angles and detail shots of the glaze or texture.
- Detailed Descriptions: Provide comprehensive information for each piece. This must include dimensions, materials (type of clay and glaze), and specific care instructions (e.g., food-safe, dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe).
- Price Consistency: The pricing displayed or advertised on MudToMug must match the final price on your personal checkout page.
3. The “Showcase” Model: Sales and Shipping
- Platform Role: MudToMug acts exclusively as a visibility directory. We direct interested buyers to your personal website, Etsy shop, or preferred e-commerce platform where the final transaction takes place.
- Order Fulfillment: You are entirely responsible for securely packaging, shipping, and providing tracking information for your orders.
- Customer Service: All customer inquiries, returns, refunds, and disputes must be handled directly by you, in accordance with your own shop’s policies. MudToMug does not mediate transactions or handle financial disputes.
4. Workshops and Classes
- If you are listing educational content, clearly specify whether the class is in-person (including the exact location) or online.
- Include clear details regarding schedules, required skill levels, materials provided or needed, and the learning objectives.
- You are fully responsible for managing all bookings, student communications, cancellations, and refunds for your workshops.
5. Account and Link Maintenance
- Active Links: You must ensure that all external links from MudToMug to your shop remain active and accurate. If a featured one-of-a-kind item sells out, please update your MudToMug listing promptly.
- Community Conduct: We expect all artisans to maintain a professional, respectful standard of communication with buyers. MudToMug reserves the right to remove listings or suspend profiles that violate these guidelines or fail to fulfill orders.
