Seller FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions for Artists

Welcome to the MudToMug community! If you are a ceramic artist or instructor looking to feature your work on our platform, here are the answers to the most common questions.

1. How does MudToMug work for sellers?

MudToMug operates as a curated global showcase, not a traditional marketplace. We display your pottery and workshops to a targeted audience of ceramic enthusiasts. When a buyer clicks on your item, they are redirected to your personal website, Etsy shop, or preferred checkout platform to complete the purchase directly with you.

2. Do you take a commission on my sales?

Because the final transaction takes place on your own website, MudToMug does not take a percentage or commission on your individual item sales. You keep exactly what you earn through your own checkout system.

3. What types of products can I feature?

We exclusively feature original, hand-crafted ceramics made by independent artisans. You can feature functional pottery, sculptural pieces, and both online and in-person ceramic workshops. Mass-produced, factory-made, or drop-shipped items are strictly prohibited.

4. Who handles shipping, returns, and customer service?

You do. As an independent artist, you are fully responsible for securely packaging, shipping, and providing tracking for your orders. All customer inquiries, returns, and refunds must be handled directly by you, according to your own shop’s policies.

5. Can I list my ceramic classes or workshops?

Yes! Spreading ceramic culture is a core part of our mission. You can list your educational content, whether it’s an in-person studio class or an online course. Just like physical items, interested students will be redirected to your own booking system.

6. What happens if a featured item sells out on my site?

Since all your pieces are unique or limited in stock, we ask that you keep your MudToMug links updated. If a featured item sells out, please update or replace the listing on our platform promptly so buyers aren’t directed to unavailable products.

7. How do I apply to feature my work?

Getting started is simple. Just head over to our “Sell with Us” page, fill out the application form with your details and shop links, and our team will review your portfolio to ensure it aligns with our handmade guidelines.
